Sampler Workflow Advice
-
I'm building an instrument that currently has one Waveform Generator and one Sampler Module. There are gain controls for each so the user can blend the signals as desired.
I want the user to be able to select a different set of samples from the interface (possibly up to 5 or 6 different sets of samples). Its a similar concept to the Native Instruments Play series.
Would it be best to use multiple sampler modules or can I do this from one sampler?
I see that there are options for multi mic samples but my samples aren't multi mic'd - they are just variations of similar instruments.
Advice appreciated or if anyone can point me towards resources to help...
BTW I've watched David's Deep Dive into the Sampler and the latest HISE meet up where Christoph unveiled the new sampler features but I couldn't spot anything which directly addressed what I'm trying to achieve (I may have missed something though!). Thanks

@Tangerine_Sounds If you need the sample sets to be swapped on the fly, during playback, then the simplest method would be to use one sampler per sample set.
If they don't need to be swapped during playback you can use a single sampler and change which sample map is loaded.
There are other methods too but these are the ones I would use.
I have an old video about swapping out sample maps with presets, might be useful here:

@d-healey thank you, this video is exactly what i need.
The samples don't need changing on the fly so using one sampler makes things a lot simpler for me. -

You may find yourself saying that a lot.

@clevername27 I get that feeling too
