I've attached four audio files. Maybe I'm missing something basic? It's weird. Attached are:

      • The audio file that doesn't play correctly in a HISE sampler.

      • That file played back from HISE (incorrectly) and from the macOS Finder.

      • Every other audio file plays back correctly from HISE's sampler—this is one of those files.

      • That file played back from HISE (correctly) and from the macOS Finder.

My first thought was some sample rate mismatch issue. Inspecting the files you sent I can see Kick_A_01.wav is 32bits/48kHz while Kick_A_02.wav is 32bits/44.1kHz

So one of these will be resampled on playback depending on your audio settings in HISE. I'm guessing the playback in Finder dynamically adapts to the file's sample rate, which it can do since it is only playing back one file at a time.

Another possibility is the issue is related to how you've mapped the sample within HISE. Are you using the sampler or loop player?

@d-healey Thank you, Dave! I uploaded the 48kHz file by mistake, but as usual, your questions took me down the right paths to fix the problem.

To anyone arriving here having had the same issue:

When I opened the original sample file to check if it was the correct sample rate, I decided to re-export all the samples for good measure, and recreate the Samplemap from scratch. (Not a big deal; there were five samples in that map.) And now it seems fine. That was a critical issue for me — thanks again @d-healey.
