Clip Indicator .

So I am practicing a bit , making vu meters etc .
Does anyone have any tips on making a clip indicator , say i was using 2 image filmstrip of a led for example , one is off , and the other would turn on at clipping.

By now I think I have a handle on getting levels from modules , but cannot see how I could make something happen at a certain level.
I could cheat and just make a filmstrip that is blank until at the clipping point , I guess ?

Any thoughts on this to steer me in the right direction?
