            You need to have write permission for the /usr/local/bin directory.

                You don't need to, just make sure you install it with super user (root) permissions.

                          @Russellbharris1 yeah, I am also having that issue, the bug appears to be that the dialogue box doesn't show the path until after you hit save.. it shows up with the text "no folder selected" even after you browse and select one.

                            @MacroMachines Strange... On mac, you can check in Application Support/HISE/compilerSettings.xml if the path is set.

                            Can't help pressing F5 in the forum...
