[feature request] Zone colour overlay

When using a complicated sample map it would be handy if we could colour the zones.

So instead of this:

We might have something like this:

I just rediscovered this post and I still think it's a useful idea, so bump!

This sounds great. Probably 10 or so color options on right click would cover 99% of usecases.
