Hise Crashing
-
@David-Healey First of all, thanks so much for the fast reply. I tried doing it and it seemed to be working using only 2 mic positions, 1 Dynamic and 1 Round Robin.
Names are following:
ain_Crash_54_Dyn01_RR1_A
ain_Crash_54_Dyn01_RR1_B
ain_Crash_54_Dyn01_RR2_A
ain_Crash_54_Dyn01_RR2_Bfirst two tokens being ignored, just sitting there to be human readable.
After trying that successfully i tried to put 8 Different Mic Positions with 3 Round Robins, Channel Index Reaching from A to H.
I sadly got the same behavior, it maps the samples correctly on the map, and when trying to save to a new sample map crashes the entire program.Or do I overlook something entirely, and maybe even my naming doesn´t make sense?
Also should I try reinstalling the non-compiled version of hise once again to check if I made a mistake compiling? Thanks man!

@LucaL can you make a video showing the process and the crash?
-
-
@LucaL Interesting, can you share the samples you were testing with and I'll see what happens on my system.

Those where the samples im testing with currently.
-
@LucaL Will take a look at this soon
-
@LucaL It worked for me. Are you using the latest develop branch? The samples are just white noise, is that correct?
-
@David-Healey Interesting. Im using some of the samples as dummy samples, due to me not wanting that much bleed in all of the other mics for tom hits etc. The samples I used for this test are indeed just the ones with the gain to infinite.
I just compiled hise with the latest develop branch a few days ago.
Also I noticed on my system now that sometimes it works, and sometimes it crashes.
The problem is I got around 3.000 samples for the library, and can't just trial and error each of those into the sample map one at a time. But is there anything I need to change in the setup of hise itself?
-
@LucaL The only thing I did different to you was after saving the sample map I closed and reopened HISE.
-
@David-Healey okay that seemed to be working just fine. I saved it again after merging it into multi mic samples and tried converting it to monolith, but again it crashes. I guess at this point im just getting some stuff fucked up in my workflow don't I?
-
@LucaL Did you close/reopen HISE after saving merging and saving the sample map?
-
@David-Healey Yes, im saving the merged sample map again, saving the current xml of the project and then relaunching hise, but crash sadly still occurs.
-
@LucaL You could try building my fork of HISE, it's possible something there is different to the latest upstream that affects this.

Build the master branch

@LucaL Thank you, will do so now
-
@David-Healey which version of Xcode are you running or would recommend running? Im currently on the newest version of 26.6
-
@LucaL I can't remember, I don't build on mac often but it's an old one because I'm running Ventura
