FL Studio like Pattern Player

Hey I am working on a new instrument that needs a FL Studio like pattern player.
I have around 12 loop players each playing on a specific note.

Should I use arpeggiator's for this use case, or is creating a custom midi sequencer the right approach?

I would like to be able to play 2 notes at the same time. I would also like to be able to export that sequence to the DAW.

Can someone point me into the right direction?

From what I know, the FL Studio sequencer only creates a standard MIDI file, with a simpler interface...

I've tried using the arp thinking I could save some development time however it does not seem fit for this use case. I will implement a custom midi player using tables and note on off events.
