Free to test Reactive Grand Piano - work in progress
-
Hi guys just uploaded a new vi. It's a simple piano with some wave generators added to emulate resonance, release, and to compliment the main piano sound. Plenty of bugs as usual ;)
zip 90mb >> www.sampleson.com/downloads/Reactive_Grand_Piano_0.1.1.zip
An audio demo >> https://soundcloud.com/user-830166644/reactive-grand
Some weird sonud still present and wav loops is not finishedLet me know if you are able to run it. It's macos au and vst. Also snippet below if u want to compile your own
(sorry didn't know how to paste a snippet here) www.sampleson.com/downloads/rgsnippet.txt

Only for macOs?
-
@alexaudio10 yes but you can compile your own version from the snippet I've posted
-
@hisefilo Snippet doesn't include samples, images...etc And without samples, it couldn't be the same like the macOS versions that you've complied yourself.
-
Sounds very nice, but without the whole project folder we can´t test it in Windows....
Good work -
@remarkablex The samples are in the download file. They are cross-platform, only the VST is OS specific.
Although we probably need the sample map files....

@d-healey source repository https://bitbucket.org/Filosian/piano1/src/master/
-
@jadg here you go https://bitbucket.org/Filosian/piano1/src/master/ let me know if you are able to compile
-
@hisefilo It's asking for account details, do you have an open repo like github?
-
@d-healey sorry! public checkbox missed on bitbucket. now it's public.
-
@d-healey please don't expect fancy coding! or efficient modules usages :) This is what I can do at my level
-
@hisefilo
Thank you very much, but where are the piano samples? -
@jadg on the .zip file from the installer. Place the ch1 files into samples folder
-
@hisefilo
oh sorry ,no problem I found the hr1 file
Thanks -
I,ve just compiled and it´s okey, but , I have some question for you
Why do you use two separate (L & R) samples and samplers?
Did you run it in your system as a standalone aplication?
I,ve compiled it as standalone app in windows and doesn´t work if not add the MIdiSources and ,MIdiChannels floating tiles in preset. Do you Know that?
I,ve added and works perfectly as standalone app
-
@jadg L&R separation was to archive a wider sound. Same samples but for some reason every time I edited a sample in sampler1 affects sampler2. This is why I duplicated the files. Was my faster way to fix it
Never compiled a standalone version for this piano, and yes, a floating title for midi input will be needed. (have a snippet saved somewhere that does that)
In you opinion, this piano is comparable with which one on the market?? despite you already know how sound is generated/tweaked with syths
-
In my opinion the piano samples are good, but I think the sympathetic efect you are looking for is not found at all. Maybe this effect were better if you use real samples of piano instead sine wave generators.( I know its a lot of work). I think you must set the release time of samples a litlle bigger on simple envelope modules and add some ambience to the sound, because it is too flat or dry. ( maybe with Convolution Reverb).
This is an initial experiment, work in progress as you say and is a good idea. Just a question: The sounds of the harmonic serie that are you looking for are not already present in the samples you have, really?Anyway , very thanks for your interest and amabilty ...
I can bring you the whole folder of the project i´m working at this moment , if you want to take some ideas or what you want....
Thanks -
Just the last thing that pass over my brain:
if you use two samplers , one with a medium o short release time and another with a long release time and lower volume with the same samples do you , (maybe), get something of the sympathetic effect you are looking for?
-
@jadg yes! you are welcome! Id love to see your work :) just push to the repository or post a new one
Sympathetic is already on samples, but I feel like sampling something is like taking picture. You freeze the sound. And I feel magic happens when sound is created dynamically.
I've using this http://www.pianoharmonics.com/pianomap/ for mapping overtones but still working
Release is 80ms, yes maybe 120/130 will be indicated. I love to "mute" sound on release for jazz soloing, but classical does not needs that I think

@jadg nice one!!!! Will try it
