Hello kind people, I have been researching HISE for a couple weeks and last night sat down to, start to completion, create my first working synth. It was a good time. I searched the forums for rules, but couldn't find any. So, I decided to go ahead and make this general social question thread about HISE and its community.
Personally, I have a lot of ideas, and many things I wish to create. To have made a simple but functional synth so easily last night felt very empowering. It's nothing special, but I was impressed with the software. Thanks for that!
I did encounter some bugs that I may look into fixing. I had to alter the build code in order to compile my project, but that was not a big deal. For example, most of the hiccups were solved when I first compiled the HISE standalone application. Rider compiled the VS2017 project fine, though I only have 2022 and 2019 installed, it used the 2022 components. For the VST compilation, some hacking was required. In that case, since I do not have VS2017 installed, I was able to point the build code toward the 2019 version of MSBuild instead. Again, it wasn't a big deal. To me, it seems like JUCE is large and unwieldy. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied.
