Sample Popping
-
Hi there,
Im having an issue with my samples popping in their transients. I have troubleshooted the following:- checked that my samples were edited and cut at a crossing (and have additional crossfades)
- checked that my samples are not popping in HISE (before HLAC compression)
- Tried compressing my samples with different buffer sizes set on different computers
- Checked the above mentioned on three different computers.
The problem arises after I load my .Hr expansion file, only then do I hear the sample popping. If I load the samples into a HISE session, they are perfectly fine, I can play them without any kind of sample noise.
Im thinking this has something to do with the .CH compression? Has anyone else experienced this kind of error? Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else I can troubleshoot? -
@jlev777 What version of HISE are you using? And which OS?

Computers tested on:
Big Sur M1 (2.1)
High Sierra (2.1)
windows 10 (2.1) -

Is it the develop branch of HISE?
-
@d-healey Yes it is.

@jlev777 What are the samples of? Did you compress/uncompress the monolith at 24bit (aka Full Dynamics)?
-
@d-healey Piano Sounds. No I do not believe that was selected when I compressed them.

@jlev777 Try compressing/installing with the full dynamics option and see if that helps. Do you have an audio recording of the issue and of what it should sound like that you could share?

@Jlev777 If you can please follow up with this. I'm getting mysterious pops and clicks on my piano instrument as well so I'd love to hear what you learn. Mine problem seem to be with performance issues with the convolution reverb.
