Vst Built, samples imported, but no sound in reaper
-
I re-exported and I realised the following:
The problem seems to be connected to the midi channel.
I have an external midi controller I use to play my VSTi.
In Reaper, if I use the virtual keyboard the plugin plays correctly, while if I play with the external keyboard it does not.
:OI cross checked with another VSTi, and with it I have the expected behaviour (both external controller and virtual keyboard work)
I see midi activity in reaper when I use the controller.
I tried changing channel on my controller but nothing.
Is there any setting I need to make before exporting to tell my sampler to just listen to whatever midi port/channel I route to it?Thank you very much, BTW Hise rocks.

One more element: if I compile a simple SineWave Generator things work fine. Could it somehow be connected to the samples being multi mic?
-
@smarques What happens if you build with a single mic position?
-
@d-healey good question. just tried. The problem exists with single mics as well.

@Lindon said in Vst Built, samples imported, but no sound in reaper:
alternatively you could show us what the config data is saying about your sample location - this is in the file LinkWindows
windows: C:/Users/<your name>/AppData/Roaming/<your company name>/<yourproduct name>
Mac: Macintosh HD/Library/Applications Support/<your company name>/<your product name>Follow Lindon's suggestions

@d-healey
My LinkOSX file says:
/Users/sergiomarchesini/Music/My Company/vsttest/SamplesBut, as I said, if I use Reaper's virtual midi keyboard I hear the sounds just fine so I think there is no problem with the sample folder path.

Are you using a channel filter in your project?
-
No, I started an empty project, added the sampler, loaded the samples, no multimic. Created a minimal gui.
If I do the same thing with a sinewave it works. -
Send me a link to the project with samples so I can build it and test it on my system

@d-healey here you go.. thank you so much

Ok I think I found the problem. Where do you keep the samples (wav files) for this project? Are they in the Samples folder?
-
The original wav files are in a different folder on my hd...
I zipped the full project folder as it is. I only removed the exported map.ch1 files I had exported in the root folder. -

Well there's your problem.
Always keep the samples in the Samples folder otherwise your sample maps will end up pointing to a different location.
Open your sample map in a text editor and you'll see the location its looking at for the samples is not where your .ch file is.

And...... YOU WERE RIGHT!
It works now, thank you so much, David.
