      Hey all
As a natural outcome of my background as a graphic designer, photographer, conceptual creator — producer and musician it appears obvious that there would come a day where I got the idea to create my own instruments. That time has now come come.

I’ve been lurking and learning here for a while, and at this point I thought it made sense to write a more open-ended post rather than another technical question.

I’m currently working on a HISE-based sample instrument project and I’m already fairly deep into it. I’m actively building in HISE myself, but I’m still relatively new to the heavier development side — C++, Scriptnode internals, custom DSP, and the more advanced architectural decisions. That part both fascinates me and reminds me why good tools benefit from more than one mind.

The project itself is not about cramming in features. Quite the opposite, actually. I’m very focused on sound, simplicity, usability, and inspiration — instruments that feel good to use, are quick to understand, and offer real value rather than checkbox complexity. Fewer controls, clearer intent, and better musical decisions baked in.

My background is in music production, sound design, and design thinking. I handle the sampling, instrument concepts, UI/UX, visual identity, web, and the overall product direction. I care deeply about how things feel — not just sonically, but ergonomically and conceptually. If something looks good but doesn’t invite you to play, it’s not finished.

What I’m putting out there is not a job offer, but a possible partnership. I’m curious whether there’s someone here who enjoys the technical depth of HISE — scripting, Scriptnode, DSP, performance-safe solutions — and who might be interested in building something together over time. Not as a rushed release, and not as unpaid grunt work, but as a shared project with clear roles and real ownership if it grows into something commercial.

I already have a roadmap and several concrete instrument ideas, but I value discussion, challenge, and iteration a lot. I’m not looking to hand everything off — I want to stay involved in the technical side as well — but I do believe that strong instruments are almost always the result of collaboration between sound, design, and engineering.

If any of this resonates — or if you’re simply curious — feel free to reply here or send me a DM. Even a conversation would be valuable.

      Benjamin
