To fully create user custom UI, which one of the following options are better:
CustomLaf or Starting from Scratch using panels?

Want to fully customise a rotary slider, I'm using the CustomLaf option but I'm having little problems.

Any advice is appreciated.

@nesta99 Custom LAF is good if all or almost all you sliders/knobs look the same.
Otherwise it is painful, so individual panels are better in my opinion

I think LAF is the way to go for most things but panels still have their uses. If you're doing lottie controls for example then panels are required.

I don't think it's painful to add variation to your controls using LAF, you just have to organise a system to handle it.
