Master button control over two other engine buttons, A and B
-
Hello,
I'm brand new to this forum—please excuse me if I've posted in the wrong thread.
I’m a sound engineer for live tours. I have a friend who’s gotten into developing audio plugins, and I’m really impressed with what he’s accomplished. He works with HISE. I’ve decided to start my own project using HISE, where I’d like to create an effects plugin.
If you could help me with an issue I’ve been stuck on for the past three days, I’d really appreciate it. Let me explain: I have an XML file, and from that I’ve created a module in the X interface that controls certain effect parameters.
My design involves Effect Engines A and B, and from there I’ve also created script_FX1 and FX2, where I’ve integrated processing blocks. So far, my tests have been successful, and I’m only at 1% of what I want to accomplish...
I’d like a module on my interface page to be able to control two parameters of Engines A and B (this parameter is “DRYWET”). It works like this: when I set it to 0%, it sends the signal to Effect A, and when I set it to 100%, it cuts off Effect A and engages Effect B. Similarly, if I set the knob to 50%, it routes the signals from both Effects 1 and 2.
My knob affects both effects—I can see their values changing—but I can’t hear Effect 2; the signal is coming in fine, but no sound is coming out of the effect.
I know this is a bit confusing, but do you have any ideas on what I could use for this parameter?
Thank you very much for your help.

You've put your question in the wrong category, and it's not marked as a question!
Edit your post and do both those things, and you will get answers I'm sure!As for your question, you can do this via scripting. ScriptFX have a container module called "soft bypass" meant exactly for this kind of thing.
If I have a spot of free time I'll make an example.
- By the way, are you wanting the routing of A and B, to be parallel or series? Is one supposed to feed the other, or be completely separate? Because that will require setting up a bit of routing too!

@griffinboy
Thanks, griffinboy,
I found some solutions by changing some commands in the code editor. Everything is working fine now, just as I wanted.
To answer your question:
I just changed my routing again, but I know I’ll need some additional routing—it’ll be Engine A, Engine B, and parallel. To get started on my first project...
I’ll see later if I want to make things a little more complicated...
Thank you so much!!
