Quick question
-
When I go and add a new component, the components code does not show up in the script editor.

Sounds like you're used to an old version of HISE where JSON was added to the script editor and now you're using a newer version of HISE where that doesn't happen. :)
Watch tutorial number 6 - http://hise.audio/manual/VideoTutorials.php

Here is a photo:
No code gets generated below the line that designates the front interface size. In the tutorials, code for the knob automatically fills in in the script editor
-
What version of HISE are you using?
-
HISE 2.1.0
-
@Noahdeetz Yeah HISE 2.1 doesn't add JSON to the script editor and you can't add a front interface in the way you show in that image. Whichever tutorial you are using is out of date. Try my video tutorials at the link I posted above.
-
@d-healey ok I will. Thanks!
-
Also, what version are you using?
-
The same as you 2.1.0 :)
-
@d-healey so what version would have it? I looked at the tutorial and it didn’t mention the version
Sorry for the noob questions. I’m a musician getting into software
-
@Noahdeetz 1.6 and below, I think. But don't use old versions.
-
Oh okay. So would you recommend just copying it manually from the knob to the script editor? So then how would I link it to something like a reverb dry/wet?
-
@Noahdeetz No, you don't need any JSON code in the script editor. That was the old way of working. Now you can do almost everything directly in the interface designer. If you need to edit the JSON code that is possible too but it's rare that it's needed. I have 3 videos (I think) about the interface designer, watch them and hopefully everything will make sense. :)
