    • VST that serves as MIDI switch for Roland VK7 function

      Good Day HISE Forum -
Hope this isn't ill-related to this site. I've had this question I once, years ago, posted to a FlowStone forum, and got no answers. With FlowStone, my intention was to fashion a MIDI out switch, that would send a string to my Roland VK7 to control "Rotary Sound: Brake and speed". I was told I could build that in FlowStone, but had only an inkling of how to finish the job. I found no help whatsoever.
Perhaps there is a module here of some kind that could be an app for sending that string to the organ. Perhaps not. Always worth a try, because it shouldn't be that much of a difficulty. Any suggestions?
      Thanks a mil! 🎓 TheProf

    • RE: HISE Newbie intro

Thanks so much for the concise replies. Sounds to me, that if I outgrow Kontakt, which has always been challenging for me, this is the go-to site for creating my own instruments. It might be a wee bit above my pay grade, but still interests me a lot. It's such a fascinating science.
I mentioned that I had a question, and I will make a new post for it. I'll label it "VST that serves as MIDI Controller for Roland VK7 function". I hope it's not ill-related. Thanks again - 🎓 TheProf

    • HISE Newbie intro

Greetings HISE Forum - Newbie here, Music Teacher who dabbles in DAW. I started with Cakewalk, moved to Cubase SX and Fruity Loops. I use NI Kontakt in both mediums and plan to upgrade to Kontakt 7. I discovered HISE in a review of Kontakt 7. The commentary mostly referred to HISE as a free alternative. I'm not concerned with that, as I can afford my hobby, but certainly am happy to see a platform that users who might be strapped can use to further their musicality.
I'd love to be a composer, but that knack must've escaped me, or I'd have some gold records! I have all the tools, but my efforts have always involved re-creating music. So, it's a traditional application, studio-wise, where I take advantage of the "self-contained" or "One man band" potential of the DAW.
I know music much better, so in the digital world, and in general DAW usage, I'm still scratching the surface after 34 years. Old dog? Guess so, but a dedicated dog I am!
Meanwhile, I'll stay out of the way and do a lot of reading. I do have one question I plan to post soon. So, thanks for the opportunity to share some thoughts. 🎓 TheProf
