Just sharing this in case somebody can help me with something so annoying.

Whenever I need to type a string I type a quotation mark, one quotation mark types on the first press, then on the second press (even after I type something after the first quotation) TWO more pop in and I always have to space to the end, delete, then nagivate back into the two remaining quotation marks THEN type my string. Super annoying, anybody know if im doing something dumb is it just the way it is?

and this is what [type quotation] [type string] [type quotation] looks like. again, simple but typing so many strings having to do this is killing my softly. smh.

and if I try to delete that one quotation mark where my cursor is now, it will delete both quotations! You have to delete the 3rd one hence having to arrow click over just to delete it.

This is sending me off the edge. somebody please advise. I could be doing something dumb on my part but I cant figure it out and this is the most annoying.

I've been working on this project this whole time and just found this. I had some stuff in onInit even commented out that must have had one in there because I deleted everything just to see if it would change behavior and it did! Then close HISE, rename that folder to something else. Then reopen HISE, it will create a new settings folder automatically with the default settings.

Test the quotation marks, if it's not fixed then delete the new settings folder and rename the old one back to the original name. If it is fixed you can either delete the old folder or you can go through the individual files and try and find exactly which file caused the issue.

I just noticed it started doing that about a month ago but thought it was just for the moment for some reason but maybe some settings changed....

You can also write the text first, select it and then add the quotation marks and it will add it to both sides.

Is this not happening for you?

And even if, after typing my string, I type a second " quotation mark, it just skips the cursor to after the second quotation mark that was already there.
